PediStick to Attend Foot Health Matters Day at University of Huddersfield During National Feet Week 2026

University of Huddersfield Podiatry Clinic
PediStick will attend Foot Health Matters Day at the University of Huddersfield on Wednesday 22nd April 2026 as part of National Feet Week which runs from 17th – 23rd April 2026.

What is National Feet Week?

National Feet Week is a UK campaign dedicated to raising awareness of foot health, promoting good foot care habits, and encouraging people to seek professional advice when needed. It exists because problems with the feet are very common but often ignored until they become serious. Many feet-related conditions are preventable or easily treated if caught early, but when left, they can have a serious impact on mobility, independence and overall wellness.

This year National Feet Week takes place from 17th – 23rd April 2026. Across the UK National Feet Week is marked by advice campaigns in clinics, pharmacies and workplaces. Educational materials are shared by healthcare providers and there are often social media awareness drives on the subject. Some organisations offer free foot checks or podiatry advice sessions.

What Topics are Discussed During National Feet Week?

Messaging during the week typically focuses on several core areas, particularly for those most at risk such as older adults or people living with diabetes:

  • Prevention of foot problems – providing advice regarding suitable footwear, daily care and hygiene.

  • Early detection of foot health issues – spotting issues such as pain, skin changes, cuts or foot injury and nail problems.

  • Education – Encouraging people to learn about common foot health conditions such as bunions, heel pain and athlete’s foot.
