It is also important to choose shoes that fit well and don’t create friction points, as these can quickly lead to hard skin or calluses over time. Small areas of rubbing, if left unchecked, often develop into larger problems which cause discomfort and can lead to infections.
Rotating your footwear between different pairs can also make a difference, as it gives each pair time to air out, dry fully and return to its natural shape after being worn, rather than staying compressed or damp. This helps reduce wear inside the shoe and can also prevent repeated pressure in the same areas of your feet, helping to distribute pressure more evenly overall. Alongside this, choosing socks that manage moisture and reduce rubbing can further improve comfort and help prevent irritation.
